UV's



This week I worked on creating the uvs for all my pieces for the shop. For each of the pieces that were detailed like my sign I created a basic uv so it can go into substance painter to be textured. However, for my building itself I needed to planar the faces so that I could create the brick texture on substance sampler and then multiply the texture in unreal.


I also had to detach some of my parts like my door and 2 windows as I made them on the same layer, and it would have not worked if they were all one layer as the brick textures need to be a different layer to the detailed uvs as they are needed for different texturing.



Once I was finished with all my uvs I then selected the layers I wanted to bring into unreal then I just did file -> send to unreal -> selection and then that exports my work into unreal.



I then had a look at my overall building in unreal to see if there were any problems with my exporting or with my uvs and everything seemed fine.

















Next week I am going to work on texturing my work in substance painter and sampler and in unreal!
